In my opinion, if you’re going for dark chocolate, you need to go salty. Theo Dark Chocolate agrees! This Dark Chocolate Sea Salt bar is definitely the best chocolate bar for s’mores if you’re a dark chocolate lover. The flavor is deep without being bitter. There’s a perfect amount of salt. This is what you should reach for if you want to make a more mature version of a classic s’more. Not that the original isn’t great, but sometimes you just want to feel like an adult.

The Trader Joe’s Milk Chocolate Crispy Rice Chocolate Bar is basically a better version of the beloved Nestle Crunch Bar. The puffed rice has a wonderful texture and the chocolate is creamy and sweet. These come in multipacks and are super affordable, so you get a good bang for your buck. These aren’t just the best chocolate bars for s’mores—they’re one of the best chocolate bars in general.

Best Milk Chocolate

This was the creamiest, milkiest milk chocolate bar we tried. The texture is so smooth and dreamy. It’s sweet without tasting too artificial. It’s organic, which is a nice added bonus. Plus, it’s affordable because it’s Sprouts brand! If you’re a s’mores purist, this is the bar you should be placing inbetween your marshmallows and graham crackers.

The moment you pull out a Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bar, everyone suddenly becomes British. They will say things like, “I hate American chocolates,” and, “Ugh, it’s just so sweet.” Please drop the act, choco-traitors. Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars are delicious. And more importantly, they are definitely one of the best chocolate bars for s’mores. No other milk chocolate bar we tried had a better melt factor, breakability, or shape. Hershey’s is a classic for a reason, people!

From the taste to the name, everything about the Chocolove Chili Mole Chocolate Bar is sexy. If you’re looking for a cool grown-up s’more that would impress your most culinarily adventurous friend, this is the bar for you. It’s spicy and it has an interesting crunch that will add textural nuance to your s’more from the addition of espresso beans, pistachios, and apricots in the bar. The Chocolove Chili Mole Chocolate Bar is the best chocolate bar to use if you’re serving s’mores at a fancy cocktail party.

I am not a white chocolate fan, but I cannot deny that the Lindt White Chocolate Bar is great. This would definitely be a white chocolate lover’s pick for the best chocolate bar for s’mores. It was easily the best pure white chocolate bar we tried. It melts well and is super sweet. And, if you can believe it, this white chocolate bar was the best bar we had from Lindt in general. Take note, Lindt lovers!
