James St. James (born James Clark on August 1, 1966) is an American television personality, author, celebutante, and frequent collaborator with Mathu Andersen. He was a member of the New York City club scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a member of the Club Kids group in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
As the topic of Club Kids television appearances and interviews, James St. James became well-known for his extravagant lifestyle that included extensive drug use, excessive partying, and strange costumes. It was this lifestyle that initially brought him to national notice. He authored the novel Disco Bloodbath (now published under the title Party Monster), which was adapted into the feature picture Party Monster, starring Macaulay Culkin as Michael Alig and Seth Green as St. James, which was released in 200His life was the subject of the documentary Party Monster: The Shockumentary, which was released in 1998.
